Pathways of Blood
To the Fingers beginning in right atrium-
Starting from the right atrium blood will travel through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle. Then it will go through the pulmonary valve to the pulmonary trunk. It will go out the left and right pulmonary arteries to the lungs. It will come back through the left and right pulmonary veins, into the left atrium. it will go through the mitral valve to the left ventricle. Then it will go through the aortic valve to the ascending aorta, to the brachiocephalic trunk to the right subclavian a., which becomes the axillary a., then the brachial a. It will then travel down the radial a, into the palmar a, to the digital a. Now it will travel into the digital v, which go to the palmar v, then it will go up the cephalic v., into the subclavian v, into the brachiocephalic v. From here it will enter the superior vena cava and go back to the right atrium.
Arteries- Blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart to the desired area in body.
Veins- Blood vessels that carry blood from different parts in the body, back to the heart.
Capillaries- Small blood vessels that carry blood to venuoles to veins.
Arterioles- smaller arteries that carry blood away from heart.
Venuoles- Carry blood from capillaries to veins.
